LectureLens

Privacy policy

Policy version 3. Updated 27 October 2026.

This policy describes the LectureLens iPhone and iPad app and how to contact its publisher.

Your documents

PDFs, PowerPoints, Word documents and rendered page images are processed on your device. LectureLens does not upload their contents to a developer server or document-conversion service.

Local storage

Your library is stored in this app’s Documents directory. You can remove individual documents from Documents. Uninstalling the app removes its local library. Device backups may include app files depending on your system settings. Keep the originals in Files.

Copying and sharing

Only an image you choose to copy or share is passed to the clipboard or selected destination. Other apps and services handle those images according to their own settings and privacy policies. Removing a saved document does not remove images already copied or shared elsewhere.

Files access

The system Files picker lets you choose a document to import. LectureLens processes the selected file and does not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone or photo library for this workflow.

Advertising

Eligible adults may see a Google AdMob banner in the gallery. Ads are not shown in the slide viewer, crop controls, copied images or shared exports. There are no interstitials or in-app purchases. Failed or unavailable ads do not prevent document use.

Advertising data

When advertising is enabled, Google Mobile Ads and its consent platform may process your IP address, device and app identifiers, approximate location, ad interactions and diagnostic information to deliver and measure ads, prevent fraud and manage privacy choices. Your lecture documents and rendered pages are not provided to the advertising SDK. This release requests non-personalised ads and does not request App Tracking Transparency permission or access to the advertising identifier.

Advertising choices

Advertising stays off until you select 18 or over and Google's privacy checks allow ad requests. Under 18, Prefer not to say and an unanswered age choice do not request ads. We save only this age-group choice, not a date of birth. You can change it in About and privacy. Ad privacy options opens Google's available consent controls. Changing to Under 18 or Prefer not to say stops further banner requests; information already processed by Google remains subject to its privacy policy.

Accounts and analytics

This release is a free download with gallery advertising and no in-app purchases. It has no LectureLens login, separate developer analytics, push notifications or timetable/Blackboard connection. Advertising data is described above. Your device and App Store may offer separate system diagnostics and backup controls.

Support

If you email support, your address and anything you choose to include are sent through your email provider to the publisher's support inbox to answer your request. LectureLens does not attach your saved library automatically. Contact the publisher if you want your support correspondence deleted.
